Uncle Jake, I wish my son Drew had gotten the chance to know you, as I wish he had the chance to know my father and Uncle Warren too. I wish as an adult I could hear all of your stories of growing up in Nichols and Trumbull again, and all those stories I never did get to hear as a child. I will remember riding in your truck on Junque Day and scrounging around in "Things Unlimited". Your gardens and the wonderful vegetables we had from them. I will remember your MG, just about the coolest car I have ever seen. And warning my future in-laws about who they were about to meet - and it was still a shock to them! Your face splashed up on the screen at the movie theater. Like so many, I will remember your humor and your hand-tricks. I will remember both of my “Uncles” always there at Christmas. I remember going fishing with you on your cabin cruiser and going to the Christmas party at the yacht club. I remember so many pots of clam chowder made from the clams you would dig for us. I will remember growing up on a beautiful lake, in a pretty little house, and you always being a part of that. I will remember an unforgettable face that always managed to have a certain twinkle and good cheer about it. I will miss you.

Uncle Jake,
Your memory will live on in the stories I tell my children all about Uncle Jake and Uncle Warren. Though not real uncles, I wouldn't have traded either of you for the world. You made my childhood quite lively and memorable.
To Dorothy and family, I am so sorry to hear about Jakes passing, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Jake was quite a character and will be missed.
With Love,
