Arthur Soderberg

SODERBERG Mr. Arthur Soderberg, age 72, Husband of Elizabeth (Durette) Soderberg, of Beacon Manor Circle, Naugatuck, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Soderberg was born on October 6, 1932, in Bridgeport, a son of the late Arthur and Daisy (Miller) Soderberg. Prior to his retirement he was employed for more than 20 years by People's Bank. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War and was a POW. He was also a locksmith and an avid fisherman. Besides his wife he is survived by four sons, Roy Dalton, of South Carolina, William Soderberg of Derby, Dean Soderberg of South Carolina, David Soderberg of Waterbury; one step-daughter, Donna Carmody of Naugatuck; three sisters, Gloria Aubin of Newtown, Beverly Cassin of Kissimmee, Fla., Dale Shrimmer of Shelton; nine Grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Alicia Soderberg of Derby, and Dawn Soderberg of South Carolina; one son-in-law Paul Carmody of Naugatuck; several nieces and nephews; and several foster children. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent Ferrer Church on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at 10 a.m. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial with full military honors will be in St. James Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck, are in charge of the arrangements.
