Mary J. Grom

GROM Mary J. (Pistey) Grom, age 94, of Stratford, died on Saturday, May 7, 2005, at Bridgeport Hospital. She was the widow of George F. Grom, who was the former registar of voters for the City of Bridgeport. Born on November 10, 1910, to the late Joseph and Anna (Kochiss) Pistey, Mrs. Grom had been a Stratford resident for 34 years. She was a retired hairdresser and had been the owner of Maurita's Beauty Salon in Bridgeport. Mrs. Grom had also been employed at Arthur's of Southport and the House of Shubert in Stratford. She is survived by three beloved children, George W. Grom and his wife, Patricia, of Stratford, Rita Dulski and her husband, Stanley, of Belleville, N.J., and Maureen Grom of Stratford; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at 10 a.m. directly at St. Mark Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private at Lakeview Cemetery. At the family' request, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may make contributions in her memory to The Merton House, 43 Madison Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06604.
