Frank D. Hunt, 75, of Bindel Street, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013, at home. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park cemetery. Pastor Dick Means of Cavern Baptist Church will officiate. Elks Ritual will be provided by the Carlsbad Elks Lodge

Franklin D. Hunt was born to Clarence and Anna (Porter) Hunt on May 29, 1937, in Carlsbad, N.M. He was raised in Carlsbad and graduated from Carlsbad High School with the Class of 1956.
Frank and Audrey "Tink" (Hicks) Hunt were married in 1962. He worked as an electrician for Foster Wheeler Corporation and then, in 1980, went to work for the Petroleum Chemical Division and lived in Turkey for a number of years before returning to the United States in 1985. He then worked for the Petro Chemical Division until retirement from Foster Wheeler Corporation in 1994. They then returned to Carlsbad, where he worked for J.W. Budwine and WIPP before taking retirement a second time.
Frank was a member of Carlsbad Elk's Lodge No. 1558, Moose Lodge and Cavern Baptist Church. He loved traveling, spending time with friends playing dominos, cooking out and dancing.
He is preceded in death by wife, Audrey "Tink" Hunt; son, Michael Hunt; and brothers: Leslie and Glenn Hunt.
Frank is survived by long time companion, Betty Faye Lindley of the family home; daughter, Liz Estrada; sister, Patsy McClure and husband, Charles of Carlsbad; grandson, Tim Estrada and wife, Danialle of Carlsbad; granddaughter, Melissa Hunt of Martin, Tenn.; and three great-grandchildren. Extended family includes: three step-children; and nine step-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
