Lynn Hoyle Obituary

Lynn "Salty" Hoyle passed away at his home in Alto, New Mexico, Sept. 26, 2013. His loving and devoted wife, Anita, was at his bedside. He was 86 years old.
Lynn was born in Abbott, Texas, to Robert and Ava (Dunagun) Hoyle Oct. 9, 1926. In the fall of 1942, he moved with his family to Carlsbad, New Mexico. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy (1942-1946) to serve his country during World War II. He again re-enlisted in the U.S. Navy to serve during the Korean War (1950-1953). He traveled and worked in various states and countries. In 1967, from Corpus Christi, Texas, he returned to Carlsbad, New Mexico, to be the "Bagging Plant" manager for Salt Supply Co. He continued to manage and supervise the various plants, including the Lake Plant when United Salt Supply took over. Lynn retired from United Salt Co. in 1991 after 24 years of devoted service.
Lynn was preceded in death by his father, Russell in 1984; his mother, Ava in 1988; his wife, Joyce in 1991; and his brother, L.C. in 2006.
Lynn is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 21 years, Anita (O'Hagan) Hoyle; his daughter, Montie Chesher of Clovis, N.M., and her children, Denise (Shane) Yeary and her children, Lisa Chesher and Klint Rodgers; his son, Gil Hoyle of Carlsbad, N.M.; his son, Karl and wife, Sandy Hoyle of Parker, Colo., and their children, Justin and Taylor; his daughter, Melissa and husband, Gerald Busch of Carlsbad, N.M., and their children, Jairus, Joyce, Keena and Ellie; his daughter, Ellie Hoyle and Victor Barrios of Ruidoso, N.M., and her children, Erica, Trevor, Clarice, Logan, Sadie and Lita; his daughter, Charlotte and husband, Matt Hale of Clovis, N.M., and their children, Chloe, Taylor and Hadley; his son, Dexter Hoyle of Albuquerque, N.M.; his stepson, Roy and wife, Deb Johnson of New Boston, Texas; his stepson, Rick Johnson of Ruidoso, N.M.; his stepson, Terry and wife, Derra McMaster of Ruidoso, N.M., and their children, Kasha, Cody, Brandon and John Paul; and his stepdaughter, Renee and husband, Stewart Kramer of Lawrenceville, Ga., and children, Alissa and Janelle. In addition to his 18 grandchildren, he is also survived by his 16 great-grandchildren. Lynn is also survived by his sister-in-law, Dale Hoyle her children, Ponice Neel and grandchildren Angela and husband, Dale Lynch and Kelly.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at the Gateway Church of Christ in Ruidoso, N.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Ethiopian Water Wells, c/o Hermosa Drive Church of Christ, 1302 Hermosa Dr., Artesia, New Mexico, 88210.

Lynn, I will miss you. You were the father I never had. A great man a strong role model. Lynn gave me some advice that has alwasy stuck with me even 16 years later. He was wise he hada since of humor and could always make me laugh. Lynn you are loved and will be missed.

grandpa now that you are gone the world has lost a great man but heaven has gaind a spirit of an amazing man. Grandpa youhave shown me what a great man is and just simply what makes a man. the word hero gets thrown around a lot but i say it from the botton of my heart that you are my hero. your a great man. I am s blessed to have your last name because it reminds e that im part of something great and thats being your grand daughter. I thank god for puttin you iny life and when i get older i hope and will make you proud when you look down on me from heaven. I love you grandpa.
