Ryan "Chavo" Olivo, 22, of Center Street, passed away on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, in Carlsbad. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday (Oct.12), at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Valentine Jankowski OFM officiating. Interment will follow in the new section of Carlsbad Cemetery. Vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Friday (Oct.11) at San Jose Catholic Church. Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Friday at West Funeral Home. Ryan Ramirez Olivo Sr. was born in Carlsbad on Nov. 30, 1990.
He was raised and educated in Carlsbad and worked as a roustabout in the oilfield.
He enjoyed fishing, shooting, watching football with his brothers and just being with his brothers in general. He also enjoyed playing with his dogs. He loved spending time outside with his son Jeremiah and playing video games with him. His boys were his world, including his dog Grimm. To him family was everything and his top priority.
Chavo was preceded in death by his grandma Margaret Ramirez and grandpa Ignacio Olivo.
He is survived by his love, Avida Gonzalez, and their sons Ryan Jeremiah and Jasper Olivo; mother, Molly Ramirez, father, Rudy Olivo; brothers: Rudy and wife Angie Olivo and Randy Olivo; grandma Paula Olivo and grandpa Frank Ramirez, all of Carlsbad.
Pallbearers will be Randy and Rudy Olivo Jr., Abraham Venegas Jr., Jacob and Jeff Martin Jr., Rocky Armendariz, David Gonzalez Jr. and Chris Sedillo.
Honorary pallbearers are Tim Galindo, Shawn and Jeff Martin Sr., Stacy Steagall, Josh Mares, Jacob Ramirez, Dustin Caddel and Desean Minner.
