Laurance Neitz Obituary

Laurance A. "Larry" Neitz, 78, of SKP Ranch Road, Lakewood, N.M., passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012, at his home.
Visitation will be 5-6 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012, at San Jose Catholic Church, 1002 DeBaca. A vigil is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012, at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Per his wishes, cremation will take place and interment will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Laurance A. "Larry" Neitz was born April 1, 1933, in Hollywood, Calif., to Laurance Wilbur and Marguerite (Rowsey) Neitz. Larry was a veteran of the US Navy and served during the Korean Conflict. Larry and Cecelia Bergquist were married in Van Nuys, Calif., in 1956. They were married for 56 years. He was an active member of San Jose Catholic Church and The Secular Franciscan Order. Larry and Cecelia were residents of Escapee's Co-op in Lakewood, New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Laura Neitz in 1986.
Survivors are his wife, Cecelia A. Neitz of Lakewood, N.M.; two daughters: Christina Bliven and husband, Jeffrey of Connecticut, and Karin Reinert and husband, Glenn of Pennsylvania; four grandchildren: Sandra Carpenter and husband, Charlie of Oklahoma, James Allen and wife, Katrin of Germany, Megan Bliven of New York, and Ian Bliven of Connecticut; and four great-grandchildren.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Secular Franciscan Order Group, c/o San Jose Catholic Church, 1002 DeBaca St., Carlsbad, NM 88220 or charity of donor's choice. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
