Donald E. Scheuerman II, 27, of Schooner Road, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014, at his home. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday (May 14), at the West Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Rogers of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ will officiate. Military honors will be performed by the Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard. Local services are under the direction of West Funeral Home. Additional service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday (May 16), at the New Covenant Church in Woodward, Oklahoma, with interment at Elmwood Cemetery. Donald was born in Woodward, Oklahoma, on January 4, 1987, to Don Scheuerman and Linda Clark. He was the Woodward County New Year's baby.
He attended Fargo Elementary and Fargo High School graduating in 2005 as the Salutatorian of his class. Donald joined the U.S. Army in 2005 and was attached to the 3rd Infantry Division Tank Battalion out of Fort Stewart, Ga., where they deployed to Iraq.
Donald married Alyssa Simmons in 2008 and to this union their daughter Kylie Grace Scheuerman was born on December 24, 2010.
Donald indeed was a very unique individual. Nearly all his life he consistently and persistently furthered his education. He loved life and his early passing was not in his plans.
He is survived by his wife Alyssa Scheuerman and daughter Kylie Scheuerman of the family home; father Don Scheuerman and wife Trini of Carlsbad; mother Linda Clark of Gage, Okla.; sisters: Buffy and husband Keith McKee and Lana and husband D.J. Sears all of Woodward, Okla.; brother, Kenneth Scheuerman of Carlsbad and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family that will miss Donald greatly.
