Funeral Mass for Donald T. Dennis will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec.13, 2013, at St. Edward Catholic Church. Father Cyprian Uline OFM Conv., will be the celebrant. Military Honors will be performed by the Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard. There is no visitation; cremation has taken place. Services are under the direction of West Funeral Home. Donald Thompson Dennis, 91, previously of Cranberry Township, Penn., died Dec. 4, 2013. Donald, son of Walter Edward Dennis and Mabelle Anna Thompson Dennis, loving husband of Anna Kucia Dennis, passed away at his home in Carlsbad, N.M., after a long illness. He is survived by Anna, his wife of 66 years and the love of his life; daughter, Susan Dennis Antolec, and husband Bill Antolec, of Chiang Rai, Thailand; Lorraine Allen-Munoz, and husband Dr. Julio Munoz, of Carlsbad, N.M.; grand-daughter, Caitlin Allen, of Princeton, N.J.; and step-grandchildren John Antolec and Melissa Antolec, of Pittsburgh, Penn. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Howard Dennis; and sister, Dorothy Kantner.
Donald served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was stationed in the Philippines. He retired at the age of 60 from Dravo Doyle after 37 years of employment. He enjoyed reading and woodworking including building a wishing well and a windmill for their backyard. He loved animals and gardening. His happy nature and nurturing ways always brought a smile to his friends and loved ones. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend and will be greatly missed.
