Frances Ratliff, 90, of Rosedale Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014, at her home. Cremation has taken place and services will be held at a later date. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Frances Ratliff was born on December 3, 1923, in Keaau, Hawaii, to Edon and Virginia Basque. She married Carl Ratliff in 1944. They lived in McAlister, Oklahoma, two years before moving to Carlsbad. She worked for the Carlsbad Municipal Schools for many years. Frances was an active Doe with the B.P.O. Elks, Lodge No. 1558. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband,
Carl Ratliff Sr.; grandson, Clint Ingram, and sister, Ruby Robledo.
Survivors are her children: Carl "Jim" Ratliff and wife, Elizabeth, of Albuquerque, N.M., Ginger Vaughn of Albuquerque, N.M., Cheryl Ratliff of Carlsbad, N.M., Michael Ratliff and wife, Lisa of Carlsbad, N.M.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews
