1967 - 2007 Obituary Condolences
A rosary will be recited for Aurora Victoria "Vickie" Granado, 40, at 7 p.m. today at Anderson-Bethany Funeral Home. Funeral services for Vickie will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Life Apostolic Church with Pastor Emmanuel Norfor officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Vickie passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, in Lubbock, Texas.
Vickie was born Oct. 12, 1967, to George W. Washington and Agnes Gonzales Washington in Sterling, Ill. She moved to Roswell 25 years ago and was a member of New Life Apostolic Church. Vickie loved dancing, spending time with her family and friends, eating and talking on the phone, but mostly out of everything, she loved texting all of her family every single day. The last text message she sent out to all of us said, "If I go to Heaven before you, I'll write your name on every star so all of the angels can see how much you mean to me."
Vickie loved life and enjoyed every day. She will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to be touched by her.
Vickie is survived by her mother, Agnes Gonzales of Roswell; her mother-in-law, Nancy Byrd of Roswell; her son, Ricky Granado and Vickie's daughter-in-love, Emily Ramirez, of Roswell; daughters, Agnes Granado, Bianca "Booboo" Byrd, both of Carlsbad, and Domonique Willis of San Antonio, Texas; fiancé, Burnell Booker of Carlsbad; brothers, Jay Granado and his wife, Serena , of Albuquerque, Marcus Granado of Roswell; sisters, Patricia Melendez, Linette Nash and her husband, Dedric, Carolyn Norris, and Ramona Barron and her husband, Sylvester, all of Roswell; special friends, Christine Romero, Julie Salcido, Rosemary Hobby, Lisa Villarreal, Jeanette Rodriguez, Janie Orosco and Gracie Lozano; her namesake, Vickie Hobby; grandsons, Johnny Jr. and William Boykin; former husband and father of her children, Tommy Byrd; and countless friends and acquaintances whose lives she touched.
Vickie was preceded in death by her father, George Washington, father-in-law, Lawrence Byrd, sons, Deontree and Deshawn Booker, cousins, Lucas Peralta and Lisa Fesquez, grandmother, Patsy Guevara, and granddaughter, Sariah Lewis.
Pallbearers will be Julie Salcido, Steve Silva, Sylvester Barron, Burnell Booker Jr., Steve Dominguez, Lisa Rivera, Donnell Hunter and Rosie Guiterrez. Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews, Alice Granado, Anthony Maryfield, Joshua Buenrostro, Anna Molina, Dezaray Samario, Dee Anna Nunez, Emilia Granado, Lisa Dominguez, Linette Dominguez, Kiera Washington, Marky Jay Granado, Kaitlyn Granado, Dedra Nash, Felicity Granado, Jaylene Granado, Joe Ray Molina, Raea Polak, Richard Granado, Timothy Nash, Juan Olivares (great-nephew), and one great-nephew on the way.
The family will be receiving friends and family at 702 North Ohio.
