Graveside Services for Margurette Alexander, 100, a retired teacher, will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at the Sunset Gardens Memorial Park, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home, Stephenville, Texas.

Margurette was born in Knox County, Missouri, on July 27, 1913, to Joseph Johnson and Nancy Ellen (Wear) Minor. She married Orval Lee Alexander on June 24, 1933, in Memphis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1986. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stephenville, Texas, and the Eastern Star. She was a teacher at Hillcrest Elementary in Carlsbad for over 30 years. After retirement, Margurette and Lee moved to Stephenville, Texas.
Survivors include her daughters, Betty Castleberry and husband, Charles, of Stephenville, Texas, and Ellen Boston and husband, Doug, of Colleyville, Texas; son, J. B. Alexander and wife, Ginger, of Creede, Colorado; five grandchildren, David Castleberry and wife, Paige, Mark Castleberry and wife, Melissa, Gary Boston, Rebecca Boston, Jennifer Armstrong and husband, Kenny; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mabel Holman, Alta Porter, and Erma Thomas.
