Mary was born in Clay County, Minnesota, on March 20, 1926, the seventh of 13 children. She grew up on a farm and after graduating, moved to Fargo, N.D., where she met and married Roy Schoenherr on May 7, 1945. She was a resident of Carlsbad for 51 years and was involved in many activities around Carlsbad throughout her life: City bowling, golf leagues, contract bridge, Little League and she ran her own upholstery business. She always loved working with her hands. Mary was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church.
Mary is survived by her husband Roy of 68 years; three children: Carrol Tracy and husband Francis of Carlsbad, Bob Schoenherr and wife Anita Benzing of Clearlake, Calif., Greg Schoenherr and wife Jenette of Carlsbad; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward and John Kava of Barnesville, Minn.; sisters, Sharon Ward of Albany, Or., and Janice Ellison of McCleary, Wash..
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, three brothers and five sisters.
