Phil Thomas Blair entered into rest Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at his home at Sun City, Roseville, Calif., surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Carlsbad, N.M., born July 27, 1940, and a resident of Placer County for the past 15 years.

Devoted husband of Robyn Blair for the past 10 years; loving father of Ty Blair – son; Tara Blair Souza – daughter; and Kerry Hillis – stepson. Also survived by grandchildren: Alesha Blair, Timothy Souza, Tessa Souza and Tiffany Souza; sister, Jovonne Newby; and nieces: Suzie Newby Cox and Kristy Newby Flanagan. Preceded in death by wife, Dana Love Harris Blair; mother, Margaret Johnson Blair; and father, P.T. Blair.
Phil was a middle school history teacher for 35 years. He had a zest and joy for life that made him a joy to know. He passed away following a five year battle with stage IV colon cancer.
The family invites you to attend a visitation from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, 97 Vernon St., Roseville, CA 95678; also a funeral service at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at Calvary Cemetery Chapel, 7101 Verner St., Sacramento, CA. Also there will be a celebration of his life at 1 p.m. Sept. 14, 2013, at Pleasant Grove Community Church, 1730 Pleasant Grove Blvd., Roseville, CA 95747.
