Wilson "Bill" B. Wardwell, Jr. was born April 8, 1929, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Wilson Bonnifred and Helga (Gaardsmoe) Wardwell Sr. He served his country in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict while stationed at Wold Chamberlain Naval Air Station in Minneapolis. Bill graduated from University of Minnesota in 1957 with a degree in civil engineering. He married Elaine Heaton on July 18, 1952. Bill worked as a professional engineer in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, and later moved to Florida where he worked in Cocoa Beach and Ft. Lauderdale. After retiring in 1997 he and Elaine moved to Carlsbad. Bill was a life member of American Society of Civil Engineers and Florida Engineering Society. He was an avid train enthusiast and also a life member of National Model Railroad Association. Bill has served as an ordained Elder and Deacon in the Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Douglas Wardwell; sister, Anne Marie Wardwell Tuomala Drake.
Survivors are his wife, Elaine Wardwell; son, Alan Wardwell; daughter, Elizabeth Wardwell and several nieces and nephews.
