Mary Jane McDaniel, 58, of Westridge Road, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Landsun Health Service Center.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday (Aug. 13) at the West Funeral Home Chapel with Charlie Stevens, Director of Family Ministries and Missions, First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the new section of Carlsbad Cemetery. There is no visitation.

Mary Jane McDaniel was born to Max and Carolyn (Boothe) McDaniel on June 1, 1956, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was raised in Carlsbad and graduated with the CHS Class of 1974. While in high school she was a proud member of Troubadours and traveled with them to Europe. Following graduation she attended Hardin Simmons University and NMSU-Carlsbad.
Prior to early retirement for health reasons Mary Jane taught Adult Basic Education, home-bound students and worked as an instructional assistant at CHS, Monterrey Elementary and the Phoenix Program.
She was also a long time member of First United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Vernon McDaniel.
Mary Jane is survived by her son, Brandon and wife LeaAnn McDaniel, grandsons, David and Darren, of Albuquerque, NM and aunt, Mary Jarman of Ponca City, OK and uncle Dwaine Boothe of Edmund, OK.
Pallbearers are Roland Cardona, Jeff Neal, Richard Forrest, Matt Carlsen, Robert Loftis and Paul Trone.
Honorary Pallbearers are Frannie Neal, Jackie Webb, Agnes Quintana, Carla Anderson, Susan Forrest, Cheryl Clark and Suzanne Carlsen.
