David Gadbury Obituary
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ with Bro. Gary Wright and Bro. Ken Gacobe officiating. There will be no public visitation. Interment will follow at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
David A. Gadbury was born Jan. 7, 1951, in Carlsbad, to Harley A. and Elwanda (Swift) Gadbury. He was an active minister of Gospel Assembly churches. David was bilingual and ministered to many Spanish congregations. He worked as a rig welder and was currently working with Universal Boiler Works. David also had worked as a general contractor. Playing baseball was his favorite pastime as a boy. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother. David truly enjoyed his family, friends and acquaintances. He was preceded in death by his father, Harley Gadbury.
Survivors include wife, Wanda Gadbury of Carlsbad; son, David Gadbury of Carlsbad; stepson, Michael Collins of Keswick, Canada; stepdaughter, Layla Scott of Haverhill, Mass.; grandchildren: Jesstin Gadbury, Lauren Dana, Megan Dana, Noah Scott, Nathan Collins and Hannah Collins; mother, Elwanda Gadbury of Carlsbad; brothers: Eddie Gadbury of Carlsbad, Don Gadbury of Bakersfield, Calif., Tim Gadbury of Houston, Texas, and Dan Gadbury of Ft. Worth, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be David Gadbury, Michael Gadbury, Shawn Gadbury, Norman Rackers, Albert Moisa and Mark Moisa.

I had the pleasure of working with Bro. Gadbury on the Tyler school playground. I told him that my son Paul wanted to learn to speak spanish and that day he taught Paul to introduce himself to people in spanish. Paul still remebers that to this day.

Bro. David was a kind man with a love for the Body of Christ. He had a very unique voice and people loved to hear him sing the songs he wrote. He could preach / teach in two languages. He was a great friend. Tom and I appreciated the friendship of he and Sis. Wanda. He will be remembered by many as he touched hearts all over the United States, and more.

Bro and Sis Gadbury were one of the first people that we fellowshiped with when wer first came in the body. He was so full of life. We were so haooy to see both Bro and sis Gadbury in Phoenix this past January. We were so touch by his overwhelming emotions for the love of Jesus and of the Body of Christ. We are still in shock. Sis Gadbury you are still in our thoughts and prayers. We are praying for Gods strength and comfort in this time. Bro and you will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Brother David will be greately missed. Just a few months ago we were in the living room laughing. That's what he could always do was make us laugh. And the wonderful spanish that he would speak better than us!! The Gadbury family is in our thoughts and prayers.

One of my greatest memories of David is hearing him get annointed in Spanish. I would not have a clue what he was saying, but I could feel something so astounding! What a memory we can all hold dear! It is going to be a great loss to our family and also to our church family for his many gifts and talents! I'm so thankful for all of the songs that he has written! What a blessing they have been and will continue to be!

Brother David was a wonderful and caring man. I will never forget the kind things that he did for our family. He showed us so much love and compassion and was there for us when we were in need.
It was in his church that I first developed a love for drumming when he gave me the opportunity to play for his praise and worship service.
