Ruth Florence Garland, 84, Cynthiana, Ky., died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012 at her residence.
She was born in Bourbon County, Ky., March 13, 1928 to the late Thomas Cleveland and Katie Lee Sanders Redding. She was a member of Benson United Methodist Church, United Methodist Missionary Women and the Ridge Runners, and was a retired emplyee of Standard Products.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Garland Jr., a daughter, Sandra Stroub, and a sister, Jean Garland.
Survivors include: one son, Robert B. (Rena) Garland III of Harrison County; two daughters, Bobbie Malinda Garland, Cynthiana and Ruby Lee (Larry) Causey, Dry Ridge; her twin sister, Ruby Frances Blackburn, Indiana, and other sisters, Judy (Everett) Johnson, Paris, and Billie Marking, Lexington; two half brothers, Earl Clark Watkins, Richmond and John Riley Watkins, Florida; eight grandchildren, Johnnie Adams, Tony Arrowood, Mary Beth Cummins, Ben Causey, Joshua Causey, David Coakley, Tonya Fryman and Jerry Russell Reed; nine great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 27 at 10 a.m. at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home by the Rev. Ray Snyder. Burial will follow the service in Evergreen Memory Gardens, Paris, Ky.

To the Best Granny a gal could ask for!! I love you so much, I didn't want to let you go, but Heaven needed you more..Now you're with the rest of the family that have went before us, be sure you give that kiss an hug to Mommy from me. I will miss you and think of you every day!! rest in peace my dearly beloved Granny.
