Helen Letitia Carr, 77, Georgetown, Ky., wife of James ""Jimmy"" Carr III for over 58 years, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013.
She was born in Versailles, Ky. on Dec. 25, 1935 to the late Carl and Vee Johnson. She was preceded in death by son, James ""Jamie"" Carr IV, daughter-in-law, Karen Pyles Carr, and great-nephew, Tyler Kent Deskins.
Survivors include: a son, Jeffery R. Carr; grandchildren, Brittany Rae Carr and Jeremy Roberts Carr, all of Georgetown; sister, Wanda Sue Neal (Richard) of Lexington; and brother, Carl ""Bobby"" Roberts Johnson Jr. of Cynthiana.
She was a graduate of Great Crossing High School, class of 1953, where she met her high school sweetheart Jimmy and married him Jan. 20, 1955. She accompanied him to Germany while he served our country in the Army. After returning, she worked at First National Bank in Georgetown; supervised the cafeteria at Georgetown High School; and worked at the Scott County Clerks office, but her most important job and her main passion was her home and taking care of her family. She was a faithful pianist at Berea Christian Church for 35 years, loved quilting and sewing for others, and watching QVC and soap operas.
Her great-nephew Carter Isaac Deskins was very close to her and brought her great happiness. Her granddaughter Brittany was her pride and joy and her sunshine. Her grandson Jeremy was her little angel. Her good nature and love for others will truly be missed by many.

I had the pleasure of knowing Helen and her family while attending Berea Church. She would be so nice to play for my daughter each time she sang at church .
