Bales, Rosa - Cynthiana  
Rosa Bales, 54, Cynthiana, died Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Frances Lee and Janice Muye Rhoades. Survivors include: her husband, John Bales; a son, Michael Bales, Harrison County; and three daughters, Brandy Woods, Grant County, Nora Harman, Cynthiana and Misti Cochran, Michigan. Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Ware Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bear, Yaccov Yashka - Kibbutz Sdot Yam, Israel  
Yaccov "Yashka" Bear, born Jan. 13, 1926 in Lithuania, passed way Saturday, May 21, 2016 in Kibbutz Sdot Yam, Israel at the age of 90 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Hanna Bear, his eldest son Amnon Bear and an infant daughter Zahava Bear. He is survived by his sons, Avi (Karen Schulman) Bear of Cynthiana, Ky., and Haim (Maria) Bear of Apex, N.C.; a daughter, Tamar (Omer) Eshet of Kibbutz Enat, Israel; seven grandchildren including Ilan (Kimberly) and Itai Bear of Cynthiana; and four great-grandchildren. He was laid to rest May 24 in his beloved home of Kibbutz Sdot Yam - Caesarea, Israel. Yaccov experienced the worst that humankind inflicted on itself during World War II in Europe and yet made it to the holy land where he helped to build Sdot Yam (a collective farm community) on the Mediterranean Sea. He raised his family, was a proud farmer, and continued to live there for nearly 70 years. May his memory be blessed.

Campbell, Aaron Dale - Georgetown  
Aaron Dale Campbell, 58, Georgetown, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. He was born July 30, 1957 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Spencer and Dorothy Campbell. He is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor; sisters, Janice and Sherri (Oscar); daughters, Melissa (stepdaughter) and Jennifer; sons, Jason (Melissa), Jesse, Jacob, Joshua, Jimmy, Mike (stepson), Andy (stepson); and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside service with full Military Honors was held Wednesday, June 8 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, Ky. Guy, Ollie Clay - Paris  
Ollie Clay Guy, 88, husband of Mary Walton Guy, died Thursday, June 9, 2016 at his home. A native of Sharpsburg, Ky., he was the son of the late John William Gobel Guy and Millie Jackson Guy. He was a United States Army veteran having served in the Korean War, and was a retired machinist with the Stamler Corporation. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Ronald Clay (Donna) Guy and Charles David (Connie) Guy; two daughters, Carol (Tommy) Hunt and Frances (Daryl) Moore; four sisters, Pansy Stewart, Jane Campbell, Nancy Harvey and Hattie Lemons; three brothers, James Robert Guy, Arthur (Sue) Guy and John William (Ella) Guy; nine grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Joe Lively and Brandon Lively, four great-grandchildren and two sisters, Christine Dray and Leona Smith. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 13 at 1 p.m. at Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, Ky., by the Rev. Howard Livingood. Burial will be in the Paris Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be David Guy Jr., Joshua Stanfield, Christopher Stanfield, John Guy, Thomas Guy, Lisa Ritchie, Antonia Baxter and Chelsea Guy. House, Thelma Louise - Cynthiana  
Thelma Louise Hill House, 90, a resident of Cynthiana, formerly of Berry, Ky., died Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington. Born in Ruddles Mills, she was a graduate of Connersville High (1944) and Lexington Beauty College (1946). She worked as a hair stylist and later at Bluegrass Army Depot. Mrs. House was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a long time active member of the Stringtown Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hubert Claude House; her parents, Nancy Hyatt Hill and Robert O. Hill; and brothers Herbert Hill and Frank Hill. Survivors include her children: Cheryl Peddicord (Richard) of Heathsville, VA, Robert "Bob" House (Margaret) of Greenville, SC, and Melissa Theyken (Alan) of Knoxville, TN; five grandchildren: Eric Peddicord of MD, Lindsay House of OH, Jason Peddicord of VA, Stephen Theyken IA, and Jacob House of SC; and one great-grandchild, Kylie Peddicord of VA. She is also survived by brothers, Cecil Hill (Opal), J.R. Hill (Jane); sisters. Margaret Cobbs and Judy Richie, and sister-in-law Stella Hill Smith. Funeral services were conducted Friday, June 3, at Stringtown Christian Church, KY 36 with burial in the Robinson Cemetery. Visitation preceded the funeral at the church. Howard, Gary Lee - Falmouth  
Gary Lee Howard, 66, Falmouth, Ky., died Saturday, May 28, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, Ky. He was a son of the late Wilmer Chuck and Alean Kidwell Howard, and is preceded in death by a step daughter, Penny Philpot. Survivors include: his wife, Judy Philpot; a daughter, Misty Conley of Williamstown, Ky.; and two step daughters, Rene Polick and Candie Philpot, both of Covington, Ky. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 1 at 5 p.m. at Woodhead Funeral Home in Berry. Burial will follow in Pythian Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jones, Darlene - Cynthiana  
Darlene Jones, 46, Cynthiana, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington. She was the daughter of Jonell Watson Barnes, Scott County and the late Robert Barnes, and was preceded in death by her daughter, Vanessa Gray Jones. Survivors include: her husband, Luther Randall Jones; and a daughter, Rebecca Jones, Cynthiana. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 28 at 1 p.m. at Ware Funeral Home with visitation at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Davis Cemetery.

McDowell, Edna Maude - Falmouth  
Edna Maude McDowell, 79, Falmouth, Ky., died Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Grand Haven Nursing Home in Cynthiana. She was a daughter of the late Claude and Carrie Wood Hammond. Survivors include: her husband Carlis McDowell; four children, Sharon Crotty of Walton, Ky., Cathy Harpe of Cynthiana, Ky., Ronnie McDowell of Alexandria, Ky., and Donna Sullivan of Inez, Ky. Funeral services were held Monday, June 20 at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. Interment was in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Robertson County.

Morrison, Jerry Lee - Stanford  
Jerry Lee Morrison, 67, husband of Charlotte Peel Morrison, passed Tuesday, May 31, 2016. He was born Dec. 25, 1948 in Cynthiana, Ky., to the late Earl and Marjorie Morris Morrison. He was a member of Bethel Christian Church and an Army veteran. Survivors are four children, Regina (Joe) Ralston, Melinda (Freddie) Howard, Kevin (Marcie) Peel and Daniel (Jessica) Peel; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four siblings, Laura Ann Franklin, Linda (David) Hill, Jim Earl (Julie) Morrison, Wally Morrison; and other family members. Service was held Friday, June 3 at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Bales and Pastor Keith Nicholas officiating. Burial followed in Stamping Ground Masonic Cemetery. Morrison, Rufus Lee - Paris  
Rufus Lee Morrison, 95, passed away May 26, 2016. He was born in Harrison County to the late Lee Morrison and Dessie Turner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Griffith, a daughter, Janet Pelfrey, a brother, Bill Morrison, and a sister, Christeen Brown. Rufus at one time was a well known auto mechanic in Lexington associated with Neal Tire Co., and was a member of Liberty Road Church. He is survived by a sister, Ruth M. Gordley, Lexington; a niece and foster daughter, Betty Conyers and Ruth Martin; a niece, Connie G. Haye; and nephews, Jack Morrison, Bill Toomey, Harold Toomey and Jim Conyers. Funeral services were held at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main St. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
