Amos Corbin, 83, died Friday, June 21, 2013, at Cedar Ridge Healthcare Campus.
He was born in Harrison County, Ky., March 23, 1930, to the late Amos and Ethel Sageser Corbin Sr. and was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Louise (Patti) Corbin McKinley in 2004.
He was a member of Connersville Christian Church and helped organize the Harrison County Volunteer Fire Department, was retired from I T W-Ramset in Paris, Ky., where he was an engineer and tool and die maker and held several patents.
He was an honorably discharged Army
veteran of the Korean War
and served with distinction with the 187th Airborne Division.
Survivors include: his wife of 63 years, V. Louise Charles Corbin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Allen and Betty Lou Corbin and Gregory Kevin and Carol Corbin; five grandchildren, Joshua Amos Corbin, Danielle Louise Corbin, Crystal Ann (James) Collins, Richard Clark (Jennifer) Coldiron and T. W. Coldiron; six great-grandchildren; nephews, Gary (Donna) Charles and Donald Lee Edwards; and several other nieces and nephews.
Services were held Tuesday, June 25 at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home with burial in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Connersville Christian Church Building Fund.
Pallbearers were: Rick Corbin, Greg Corbin, Josh Corbin, Gary Charles, Donald Lee Edwards and Barry Duckworth.
