Edna McMillen Lang(1913 - 2013)

Edna McMillen Lang, 99, Cynthiana, passed away peacefully May 7, 2013 after a battle with pneumonia and dementia.
She was born Dec. 20, 1913 in Scott County, Ky. She was a long time member of Cynthiana Christian Church, graduated from Sadieville High School, briefly worked at the Harrison Hotel restaurant and Biancke's restaurant before attending beauty school. She became a hairdresser, owning Edna's Beauty Shop, loved to travel, visiting many countries and much of the United States. She was formerly active in the Cynthiana Garden Club, the Women's Club of Cynthiana and the homemakers club. We will miss her laughter and humor.
Survivors include: a sister, Ruby Griffin of Crescent Park, Ky.; and a nephew and niece, Charles and Ruth Antle of Cynthiana; and many other nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Lang, parents Perry and Lillie Power McMillen, brothers, Owen, Carl, and James Paul McMillen, and sisters, Bessie Antle and Barbara Hardin.
Special thanks to the staff at Cedar Ridge Health Care Campus where she lived the last few years and to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
Funeral services were held May 10 at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Larry W. Bishop and Dr. Timothy Teater. Burial was in St. Edward Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her nephews and Jim Snodgrass.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass or Cynthiana Christian Church.
