Jessie Bell Lemons(1916 - 2013)

Jessie Bell Lemons, 96, entered into the gates of Heaven on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013.
She was born in Bourbon County, Ky., April 2, 1916, was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Cynthiana for over 60 years, where she was Sunday School teacher of the Leroy Cole Sunday School Class and was a member of the Belle Bennett Circle. She was an inspiration and a blessing to all who knew her, a talented artist and author of five books of inspirational poems and had written several hymns.
Her husband H. T. Lemons preceded her in death in 1969.
Survivors include: one son, Joe (Connie) Lemons, Cynthiana; one daughter, Joyce (Ray) Perry, Lexington, Ky.; one sister, Elizabeth Klee, Flemingsburg, Ky.; three granddaughters, Beth Ellington, Lisa Fryman and Melody Kroll; five great-grandchildren, Chelsea and Tristan Ellington, William Troy ""T. J."" Fryman Jr., Spence Gray and Carson Kroll.
Services were held Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the First United Methodist Church by the Rev. Chuck Cooper and the Rev. Mike Coppersmith with burial in Battle Grove Cemetery. Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
