Beth R. May, 53, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at Signature Care Center in Fort Wayne.
She was born in Cynthiana, Ky., and was preceded in death by her father, Hobart Ritchie Jr.; and half brother, Gary Ritchie.
She graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1983. Later, she and her husband co-owned Tri Fire Consultants, worked at Waterfield Mortgage for 14 years before going to work in management with Lincoln Financial, where she retired from in 2014 after six years. She was a former member of the St. Joseph Township Fire Department Ladies' Auxillary, an avid fan of Kentucky basketball, and enjoyed gardening, baking cakes, traveling and summers at Lake Gage and Myrtle Beach.
Surviving are: her husband Kim May and son Tyler May, both of Fort Wayne; mother, Rosemary Ritchie of Cynthiana; sisters: Sheila (Robert) Hollar and Debbie (Gary) Hill, both of Cynthiana; brother-in-law, Fred (Michael O'Conner) May of Carmel, Ind.; nieces, Amber Moore and Payton Hollar; dogs, Choo Choo and Harley; and cat, Tanker.
Funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road with calling one hour prior. Chaplain David Koenig officiating. Calling also Friday, Jan. 30 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to No Kill Animal Shelters or First Chance Scholarship Fund in c/o Kim May.
