Betty Lou Darnell Hedges, 77, Cynthiana, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 at Cedar Ridge Health Care Campus.

She was born May 31, 1936 in Fleming County, Ky., a daughter of the late William Mason and Thelma Frances Duncan Darnell, and was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Ray Darnell.
She was a 1954 graduate of Fleming County High School and a 1960 graduate of the St. Joseph Hospital nursing program, and was a registered nurse, having retired from Harrison Memorial Hospital after 30 years of service. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, attended Cynthiana Baptist Church and Southland Christian Church, and loved traveling and her church.
Survivors include: her husband of 27 years, Robert Wyatt Hedges; a son, Allan (Bridget) Magee of Butler; a brother, Nolan (Sharon) Darnell, Maysville; sister-in-law, Norma Darnell of Ewing; and four grandchildren, Joseph Michael Busher, Aaron Davis Magee, Austin Douglas Magee and Alexis Nicole Magee.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 18 at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Denny Gosney. Burial was in Elizaville Cemetery.
