Billy Wayne Palmer, 69, Cynthiana, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.

He was born in Cynthiana, Ky., May 20, 1944 to the late Jennings and Mattie Stevens Palmer. He was a retired employee of IBM, a member of the Cynthiana Elk's Lodge #438 and an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Louise Palmer.
Survivors include: a son, Lewis Wayne Palmer, Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Veronica Lynn (Michael) Hicks, Cynthiana; five brothers, Donald (Carolyn) Palmer, Cynthiana, John (Yvonne) Palmer, Hoisington, Kan., Jerry Palmer, Darrell Palmer and Bruce Palmer, all of Cynthiana; five grandchildren, Katie Palmer, Logan Palmer, William Lee Hicks, Jeremy Lee Hicks and Mikal Leann Hicks; five great-grandchildren, Brandy Lovely, Olivia Tucker, Alishia Tucker, Layne Raymer and Noah Montes; and a special friend, Sylvia Northcutt.
An Elk's Lodge service was held Tuesday, Jan. 14 at Ware Funeral Home.
