Birdie Cason Morgan, 92, was born May 10, 1921 in Grayson County, and returned to her Heavenly Father Feb. 25, 2013.
She grew up on a farm in Connersville, Ky., and married Herbes L. Morgan in 1947, they were married until his death in 1999. She was very active in her community, was a member of the First Methodist Church in Cynthiana and the Rebekah Lodge of Harrison County, worked at the Harrison County Health Department and in the office of the Webber Sausage Company.
She moved to Louisville, Ky. in the late 1960's and made a home there with her family. Besides rearing her children, she worked at the Masonic Home Journal Print shop until her retirement. She was accomplished in the art of fine needlework and she provided many beautiful pieces for family and friends, and will best be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
She leaves to cherish her memories, Mary Elizabeth Morgan Buckley (daughter), David Clay Morgan (son), Linda Marks-Morgan (daughter-in-law), Charles P. Buckley (son-in-law) and Wanda Braden (sister). Mimi will always live in the hearts of her two beloved grandchildren, Sara Morgan Buckley and Benjamin Byron Buckley.
Debbie Taylor and Nancy Hubbard, Birdie's great friends and caretakers will always cherish the memory of her kind spirit and loving nature. The family wants to thank the Episcopal Church Home for her care.
Visitation was held at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks (Preston Highway at Brooks Road in Shepherdsville) Wednesday. A graveside service will be held at noon Thursday in Battle Grove Cemetery in Cynthiana, Ky.
