Charles Wash Carter, 85, Cynthiana, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Nicholas County, April 28, 1927 to the late Herbert L. and Laura Allen Carter. He was a farmer and a United States Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Douglas Carter; two brothers, George Carter and Herbert Carter Jr.; a sister, Lorraine Fryman; and three special friends, Edward Magee Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Magee Sr.
Survivors include: his wife, Beulah Fryman Carter; a daughter, Rose (Charles Jr.) Simpson, Cynthiana; several very special friends, Sarah Magee, Judy (David) Moore, Janet (Jeff) Bennett, Carol Lynn, Brittany, Brooke and Jane (Pete) Haley, Jo Lynn and Sydney; three sisters, Cleo (Luther) Fryman and Viola (Thurman) Fryman, both of Cynthiana and Lynda Woods, Knoxville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, Aaron Simpson, Mason Carter and Sandra Carter.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 18 at Ware Funeral Home by Bro. Dee Whitaker. Burial was in Battle Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: David Moore, Jeff Bennett, Pete Haley and Charles Simpson Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were: Sarah Magee, Judy Moore, Janet Bennett, Carol Lynn, Brittany, Brooke and Jane Haley, Jo Lynn, Nutter and Sydney Soard.
