Donald Harney Jenkins, 96, Carlisle, was called home peacefully after 96 years, Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.

He was born in Nicholas County, Aug. 26, 1916 to the late William and Ethel Harney Jenkins. He was a farmer, former employee of Ladish Company, a United States World War II Army veteran and a member of Rose Hill Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Pauline Ritchie Jenkins, two brothers, Roscoe Jenkins and Leonard Jenkins, and three sisters, Mary Phillips, Merle Hamilton and Christine Morris.
Survivors include: two sons, William Nathan (Phyllis) Jenkins and Donald Keith (Darlene) Jenkins; two brothers, Roger Jenkins, Cynthiana and John (Garnell) Jenkins, Frankfort; four grandchildren, Tony Jenkins, Donald Clark Jenkins, Michael Jenkins, Justin Jenkins; and seven great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Jenkins, Tylor Jenkins, Bryson Jenkins, Braydon Jenkins, Garad Young, Lauren Seltsam and Jaycee Jenkins.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 19 at Ware Funeral Home by the Rev. Howard Livingood and the Rev. James Gaunce. Burial was in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Tony Jenkins, Donald Clark Jenkins, Ronnie Small, Ron Jenkins, Mike Ritchie, Gary McCord, Paul Hamilton and Phil McCord.
