Elizabeth V. Skinner, 86, Cynthiana, Ky., died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 at Cedar Ridge Health Care Campus in Cynthiana.

She was born on April 15, 1927 in Scott County, Ky., to the late Plummer and Ida Covington Vance. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Ernest L. Skinner; a sister Gertrude Humphrey, brother Woodrow Vance, and step great-grandson Matthew Herrington.
She graduated from Garth High School, in Georgetown, Ky., Class of 1945, was a member and Deaconess of Cynthiana Christian Church and belonged to the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was active in the church choir for more than 40 years.
Survivors include: two daughters, Joyce (Charles) Rogers, Stanton, Ky. and Jane (David) King, Georgetown, Ky.; three granddaughters, Amy (Terry) Herrington and Leigh (Scott) Reed, both of Georgetown, and Julie (Phillip Jr.) Clark of Stanton; one grandson, Keegan Rogers, Stanton; one step grandson, Shane Rogers, Richmond; nine great-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; two step great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Euna V. Linville, Georgetown; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 4 at Cynthiana Christian Church, officiated by Dr. Larry W. Bishop and Dr. Timothy Teater. Burial was in Battle Grove Cemetery. Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were: grandsons, Keegan and Shane Rogers, grandsons-in-law Phillip Clark Jr., Terry Herrington, Scott Reed and Terry Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers were: Gene Luckey, Dr. Stephen Besson, and the Deacon and Deaconesses of Cynthiana Christian Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cynthiana Christian Church Building Fund or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
