Gilbert Francis Crump, 81, Cynthiana, Ky., died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at his residence.
He was born in Harrison County, Ky., Aug. 29, 1933, to the late William Elgin and Marie Whalen Crump, and was preceded in death by two sons, Earl Francis Crump and Zemith Ray Crump, and two brothers, William Crump and Jackie Crump.
He was a carpenter and farmer and loved gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time with family.
Survivors include: his wife of 59 years, Thelma Riggle Crump; one son, Gilbert Allen (Rhoda) Crump; four daughters, Gilda (Mike) Tyree, Deborah (James) Warner, Teresa (Roger) Hammond and Rhonda Crump; one brother, Edward (Debbie) Crump; two sisters, Evelyn (Allie) Morrison and Genieve (Ronnie) Cannon; 10 grandchildren, Natalie Whitaker, Bud Whitaker, Jennifer May, Christina Crump, Shane Clemons, Josh Bell, Gannon Crump, John Crump, Jody Crump and Josh Crump; 21 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and special friends.
Services will be Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 11 a.m. at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home, by the Rev. Jeff Jackson, with burial in Battle Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
Pallbearers will be: John, Jodie, and Josh Crump, Shane Clemons, Bud Whitaker, Josh Bell, Andy Teegarden and Gannon Crump.
