Helen Jean Penn Wiglesworth, 96, Cynthiana, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Sadieville, Ky., April 1, 1917 to the late A.B. and Bernice Covington Penn. She was a retired school teacher for the Harrison County Board of Education, volunteered at Cynthiana-Harrison County Museum and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Harrison County Homemakers and Harrison County Historical Society. She attended Eastern Kentucky University and graduated from Georgetown College. She loved to crochet, knit, travel, was an avid reader and had a large card ministry that she faithfully mailed out monthly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Wiglesworth and infant twin sisters.
Survivors include: a son, Jerry (Trudy) Wiglesworth, Georgetown; a brother, J.T. (Ruby) Penn, Cynthiana; a sister, Barbara Rogers, Lexington; two grandchildren, Richard (Angela) Wiglesworth and Stephen (Rhonda) Wiglesworth; three great-grandchildren, Michael Wiglesworth, Matthew Wiglesworth and Paityn Wiglesworth; and her special breakfast friends at Hardee's and lunch friends at McDonald's.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 28 at Ware Funeral Home with Rick Bullard officiating. Burial was in Pythian Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Stringtown Christian Church or one's favorite charity.
Pallbearers were: Richard Wiglesworth, Stephen Wiglesworth, Michael Wiglesworth, Matthew Wiglesworth, Mike Lenox and James Stone.
Honorary pallbearers were: Paityn Wiglesworth, Dr. Joe Nichols and the elders and deacons of Stringtown Christian Church.
