James Clay Dedman, 64, died July 30, 2014.
He earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from Northern Illinois University, was a member of Cynthiana Christian Church and a former member of the Cynthiana Elks Lodge. He worked at Keeneland Racetrack for 25 years and as a substitute teacher in Harrison County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emily Williams Dedman and Thomas Aaron Dedman.
He is survived by two sons, Nathan (Judy) Dedman of Stamping Ground, Ky. and Aaron Dedman of Bowling Green, Ky.; two granddaughters, Emma and Kara; a sister, Mary Dedman Gleason of Minnesota; and a niece and nephew.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 9 at 1 p.m. at Cynthiana Christian Church.
