Jim Harris, 76, Cynthiana, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2018 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Carlisle, May 24, 1941 to the late Letcher and Clarine Harris. He was a retired Trane Company supervisor, a former Lexington Metro police office and was a member and served as a chairperson of the Trustee at Cynthiana First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; three sisters, Norma Thorp, Paris and Beverly (Bobby) Fields and Linda (Allen) Sparks, both of Carlisle; 11 nieces and nephews, Tina Endris, Joanne (Chuck) Lee, Jackie (Sonya) Crump, Jimmy Walter Crump, Melissa (Freddy) Fields, Tonya (Wendell) Fryman, Scottie Irvin, Albert (Wendy) Sparks, Jon (Cynthia) Sparks, Chad (Sharon) Sparks and April (Anthony) Davis; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 11 a.m. at Cynthiana First United Methodist Church by Steve Strawzell and Esther Coy. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Tuesday at Ware Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to any veteran's organization of your choice, Cynthiana First United Methodist Church or the Flora Shropshire Animal Shelter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Crump, Jimmy Walter Crump, Scottie Irvin, Albert Sparks, Jon Sparks, Chad Sparks, Tom Kopczynski, Robert Kopczynski, Kevin Kopczynski and Patrick Ronayne.
