Josephine Criswell Norfleet, 84, Cynthiana, Ky., died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Cedar Ridge Health Campus.
She was born Oct. 16, 1927 in Harrison County, Ky., a daughter of the late Rolla Henry and Emma Whalen Criswell.
She was a member of Curry United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the U.M.W., was a member and served on the board of the Harrison Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the
and was a member of the Harrison Memorial Hospital Scholarship committee. She was a graduate of Asbury College and a retired educator having taught in the Harrison County School System.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. Norfleet Jr. in 1997, and her sisters Mabel Ruth Criswell and Mary Elizabeth Barnes Drake.
Survivors include: her daughter, JoLynn Norfleet, Lexington; her son, Dr. Richard Henry (Mary Gim) Norfleet, Cynthiana; four grandchildren, Andrew, Sarah, Matthew and Hannah Norfleet; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Battle Grove Cemetery.
