Kathleen Bolton, 66, Lehigh Acres, Fla., with loving family at her side, went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 29, 2013 after a courageous fight against cancer.
She was born on March 30, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Lou Emma Bennett and John Andrew Bennett.
She was an outgoing, vivacious, and an active woman throughout her entire life. Always ready to rise to a new challenge, she accomplished much during her lifetime. She graduated from Hughes High School in Cincinnati in 1965, attended NKU and the Institute of Organizational Management at Notre Dame and also received a certificate through LOMA (Life Office Management Association) in business. Later in 1996, she added an Associates of Arts in Business Admin. Degree from Maysville, Ky. Community College to the list of her scholastic achievements.
During her early years she took a leadership role in the Insurance industry in Maryland and Ohio. Always the leader and inspirer, she served as a teaching assistant for special needs and elementary school children in Kentucky. In 1985, she became the executive director of the Cynthiana-Harrison County Chamber of Commerce and then served almost 30 years as Executive Administrator of the Courts for the State of Kentucky.
She was much involved in the communities where she resided, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Rotary Club, Homemakers Club, , involved in country line dancing and was passionate about spending time with her friends as they sought new adventures in their travels at home and abroad.
After her retirement she moved to Florida and became greatly involved in the American Legion Auxiliary Post #323, continuing involvement in the Order of the Eastern Star and the Senior Citizens Center.
Kathleen, who was a loving mother, grandmother and sister, was survived by her daughter, Bernice Ann (Bolton) Taylor of Dover, Tenn.; two beloved grandchildren, Nathanael Taylor and Joshua Taylor; two sisters and two brothers, Gloria Jean Bolton, Cynthiana, Ky., Brenda Karr, Cincinnati, Steve Bennett, Crab Orchard, Ky. and John Bennett Jr., Lehigh Acres; also survived by countless friends and loved ones. She brought joy and laughter to every single life she touched and will be greatly missed.
A memorial was held Oct. 5 at the American Legion Post #323, Lehigh Acres, Fla. Another service will be held Saturday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Battle Grove Cemetery Memorial Hall, Cynthiana.
