Louise Lizer Walters


Louise Lizer Walters, 90, wife of James Walters, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012.
She was born in Harrison County, Ky., the daughter of the late Willie and Mattie Sims Lizer. A devoted wife and mother, she was a member of Tates Creek Christian Church and was a gifted oil painter.
In addition to her husband of 67 years, she is survived by her children, Dave (Mary Sue) Walters, Lexington, Vickie (Jack) Dehner, Littleton, Colo. and Rebecca Dubre, Nashville, Tenn.; sisters, Jenny (Gene) Luckey and Ruby Smith; grandchildren, Chris (Kim), Ben (Michaelanne), and Will Dehner, John David (Christy) Walters, David (Carolyn) Warmouth and Debbie (Bruce) Wall; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, William S. Lizer.
Services were held Friday, Nov. 2 at Tates Creek Christian Church by Dr. Brad Walden and Tommy Simpson. Entombment followed at the Lexington Cemetery. Milward-Southland Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Tates Creek Christian Church or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
