Louise Ruth Jacobs Gordy, 89, Cynthiana, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Cedar Ridge Health Campus.
She was born in Harrison County, June 30, 1924 to the late Ora and Mary Ashbrook Jacobs. She was a nurse's aide for Edgemont Health Care for 10 years and privately for 10 years and a member of First Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Curtis and Bob D. Gordy; two brothers, Clyde Jacobs and Raymond Jacobs and a sister, Ruth Jones.
Survivors include: a son, Edward Paul Mattox, Middletown, Ohio; a daughter, Brenda Joyce Toadvine, Junction City; a sister, Margaret Watson, Cynthiana; three grandchildren; and two special friends, Deborah (Danny) Peters.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 23 at 12 p.m. at First Church of God by the Rev. Earl Littman and the Rev. Ted Hill with visitation at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Church of God or Harrison County Food Pantry.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Hampton, Neal Techau, Dean Pope, Daniel Peters and Art Snapp.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Simpson, David Bush and Richard Midden.
