Norma Jean McCrory, 85, died at her home in Cynthiana on Dec. 6, 2012.

She was born Jan. 26, 1927, in Birmingham, Ala., to Hosmer ""Papa"" and Beulah ""Mama"" Holroyd Abercrombie. She was a graduate of Hewitt High School in Trussville, Ala., and married Dyer McCrory on Aug. 24, 1946 in Trussville. They enjoyed spending time with family and friends, were devoted in service to their church, Alton Baptist in Lawrenceburg, Ky. for many years and her special interests included raising a family and caring for God's creation through gardening.
Survivors include: her son, David Mark McCrory and his wife Veronica, of Cynthiana, Ky.; two daughters, Rebecca Lynn Fitts and her husband Steven Fitts of Jeffersonville, Ind. and Jennie Lou Packard of Nashville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Benjamin Patrick McCrory, Miriah Lee Eden and her husband Brad Eden of Cynthiana, Megan Lynn McCrory and Michelle Ashley McCrory of Lexington, Ky. and Kaitlin Ann McCrory of Frankfort, Ky.; five great-grandchildren, Morgan, Trevor, Aidan and Madison, and Liam; and three sisters, Shirley Franklin, Doris Mae McCarthy and Pat Pannell of Trussville.
A Celebration of life was held Sunday, Dec. 9 at Alton Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg. Bro. Rick Shannon officiated.
