Ralph Dailey, 84, of Lexington, died Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Hospice Care Center.
He was born in Bourbon County, Ky., Jan. 5, 1929, a son of the late Frazier H. and Lula Dunn Dailey. He was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church, a Kentucky Colonel, member of the Teamsters Union #651, and was a retired semi truck driver having worked for Ecklar Moore Express and OK Trucking.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Tam R. Dailey, and a sister Geneva Dailey Rollins.
Survivors include: his wife of 65 years, Betty Jean ""BJ"" Harp Dailey; two sons, Ralph K. (Donna) Dailey and Monte L. (Rosemary) Dailey, both of Lexington; one brother, Frazier Dailey Jr., Lexington; four sisters, Betty (Henry) Pope, Cynthiana, Jennie (Ronnie) Buchanan, Ft. Mill, S.C., Georgia Bryant, Lexington, and Mary Jane (Bob) Dailey, Keller, Texas; brother-in-law, Don Rollins, Corbin, Ky.; four grandchildren, Kendra Dailey Brewster, Heather Dailey, Marci Dailey O'Bryan and Adam Dailey; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 1 at Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Eddie Benton and the Rev. Wayne Smith. Burial followed the service in Battle Grove Cemetery.
