Roger Allen Winkle, 66, Harrison County, Ky., died Sunday, March 3, 2013.
He was born in Harrison County, Ky., June 27, 1946, a son of the late Wilbur and Helen Jean Bryant Winkle. He was a Vietnam veteran, a retired 3M employee, was working for the Pendleton County Sheriff's Department and was an owner and shareholder in WCYN AM & FM.
He was a member of Antioch Mills Christian Church where he served as an elder since 1988 and was a Sunday School teacher, and was a member of the Taylor Masonic Lodge 164 where he served as past master.
Survivors include: his wife of 43 years, Darlene Sutherland Winkle; one son, Chris (Melissa) Winkle; two daughters, Cathy (Lonnie) Love and Emily (Brad) Vaughn, all of Harrison County; two brothers, Wilbert (Creta) Winkle of Harrison County and Phillip (Julie) Winkle of Michigan; three sisters, Cindy (Gene) McClurg, Florida, Angie (Earl) Wiggins, Harrison County, and Laura (Neil) Fox of Glasgow; nine grandchildren, Jacob, Brady, Blake, Lainey, Clay, Landon, Alex, Briley and Tyler; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 7 at 11 a.m. at Antioch Mills Christian Church by the Rev. Lonnie Love and the Rev. Evan Meyer. Burial will follow the service in Battle Grove Cemetery. A Masonic service was held Wednesday. Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Antioch Mills Christian Church.
