Roger Lynn Thomas, 65, Cynthiana, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014 at his son's residence.
He was born in Maysville, Feb. 22, 1949 to the late Albert ""Newt"" and Edith Persinger Thomas. He was owner and operator of Thomas' Towing and Salvage Yard, a truck driver and member of the Cynthiana Police Department Auxiliary. He was a United States Army veteran and member of the Millersburg American Legion Post 257.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Chester Thomas, Jack Thomas, Ronald Thomas and Gary ""Toot"" Thomas.
Survivors include: a son, Jeffrey (Beth) Thomas, Cynthiana; step son, William Ronald ""Billy"" Moorhead, Cynthiana; a sister, Ramona Ramsey, Falmouth and Judy Tucker, Cynthiana; and a special grandson, Hunter Thomas.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug. 28 at 9:30 a.m. at Ware Funeral Home by Jackie Allen Thomas. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 1317 U.S. Hwy. 62 E, Cynthiana, KY 41031.
Pallbearers will be Billy Moorhead, Darvin Thomas, Gary Thomas, Steve Ramsey, Terry Powers and Billy Ross.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Matthew, Evan Bevins, Travis Persinger, Austin Thomas, Ricky Sellers, Billy Earl North, Kevin Thomas, Scottie Ramsey, Jimmy Simpson, Dudley Fitzgerald, Steve Persinger and Jerry North.
