Samuel Alford Dennis, 87, Cynthiana, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014 at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Harrison County, March 28, 1927 to the late Clarence and Kate Smiley Dennis. He was a chemist for Seagrams Company LTD, a member of Church of the Advent, a graduate of the University of Kentucky and a United States Air Force veteran.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence Dennis, Charles Dennis and Richard Dennis and a sister, Katherine Hall.
Survivors include: his wife, Geneva Brumagen Dennis; a daughter, Amanda McCarter, Cynthiana; a son-in-law, Kenneth McCarter, Cynthiana; two grandchildren, Brittany McCarter Arnold and Samuel McCarter; and a great-granddaughter, Makenzie Katherine Arnold.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. at Church of the Advent. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth McCarter, Billy Hickman, Randall Dennis, Mike Dennis, Danny Adkins and Tracy Brumagen.
