Stanley Morrison, 96, Cynthiana, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at Grand Haven Nursing Home.
He was born in Harrison County, April 11, 1918, to the late William Leslie ""Will"" and Mary Eliza Withers Morrison. He was a retired farmer, Harrison Motor employee and Harrison County school bus driver. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church for over 50 years where he served as Elder, Sunday School teacher and treasurer, was a United States World War II Army veteran and a Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Garnetta Padgett Morrison; five brothers, Clarence Morrison, J. T. Morrison, Lewis Morrison, William Morrison and Charles Morrison; and two sisters, Mary Sue Gray and Halleen ""Dink"" Hatterick.
Survivors include: a son, Terry A. (Colleen) Morrison, Harrodsburg; a daughter, Mary Edna Morrison, Cynthiana; seven grandchildren, Michelle Harley, Brian Morrison, Stephen Morrison, Jonathan Morrison, Erin Weddington, Kelly Watkins and Zack Fryman; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug. 14 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Christian Church. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Carmel Christian Church Building Fund or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Lemuel Arnold, Larry Lail, Larry Linville and Stephen Morrison.
