J. E. ""Buck"" Jones Jr., 79, Greenwood, SC, widower of Patricia Williams Jones, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
He was born in Connersville, Ky., a son of the late J. E. ""Buck"" Jones Sr. and Lucille Hiten Jones. He was a graduate of Cynthiana High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University and was an advertising representative for L. M. Berry Yellow Page Co. for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of Rock Presbyterian Church, was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and was blessed with many friends who loved him dearly and will miss him greatly.
Survivors include: a son, J. Rees Jones and his wife, Lea, and his daughter, Julianna Jones Smith, all of Greenwood, SC; a sister, Patricia Williams and her husband, John, of Kentucky; and grandchildren, Anna-Blythe Jones of Charleston, SC, Garrett Jones, Brady Jones, Griffin Smith, Peyton Smith and Trent Jones, all of Greenwood.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat, and a son, John Stanley ""Bubba"" Jones.
Services were held Saturday, June 22 at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with Father Mike Williams officiating. Burial was in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
The colors were presented by his youngest grandsons, Peyton Smith and Trent Jones.
Pallbearers were: grandsons, Garrett Jones, Brady Jones and Griffin Smith along with Jamie Young, Stephen Young and Cass Boan.
