James M. Arnold, 57, of DeKalb, Ill. passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb.
He was born May 18, 1951, in DeKalb, the son of James Arnold and Harriet (Eckburg) Royalty. James married his loving wife, Wilma Smith Miller, in May of 1989.
James graduated from DeKalb High School Class of 1970. He was formerly employed at Turner in Sycamore and Beau Industries. James joined the Painters Union and worked for Shodeen in Geneva, Larry Luxton and Tom Moline. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma; two stepsons, James (Jenny) Boddy and Michael James Boddy, both of Sycamore; four grandchildren, Kelsey, Halle and Madisyn Boddy and Kayla Kusch, all of Sycamore; his mother, Harriet Arnold Royalty, of DeKalb; his brother, Jerry (Joan) Arnold, of Jamestown, Calif.; his niece, Tammy (Randy) Barnhart, of Minnesota; his nephew, Kenneth (Amy) Maddux, of Cortland; and his uncle, Richard (Judy) Eckburg, of Lincoln, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Connie Arnold; his father, James Arnold; many cousins; his grandparents, Evar and Goldie Eckburg and Robert Eckburg.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, at Anderson Funeral Home, 2011 S. Fourth St. in DeKalb, with the Rev. Ray Krueger of Immanuel Lutheran Church in DeKalb officiating. Interment of cremated remains will follow services at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
