Lorraine R. Anderson, 81, of DeKalb, Ill., passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb, with her loving family and friends at her side.
Born Feb. 11, 1925, in Chicago, she was the daughter of Ralph and Maebelle (Tompkins) Light. She married John R. Anderson on Jan. 5, 1946, in Chicago.
Lorraine was a lifelong homemaker. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in DeKalb and the BSF Bible Study Group.
She is survived by three sons, John (Gettie) Anderson of Clintonville, Wis., Richard (Nancy) Anderson of Iron Mountain, Mich., and Andrew Anderson of Hartford, Wis.; a daughter, Debra (Roger) Hopkins of DeKalb; 10 grandchildren, Jill, John, Jessica, Tracy, Robb, Jaimie, Tony, Megan, Andrea and Andrew; 14 great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Richard Anderson; a son, Gary Jay Anderson, a brother, Jack Light; and a sister, Dorothy Winter.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Anderson Funeral Home Ltd. in DeKalb, with the Rev. Marilyn Hanson of First Lutheran Church in DeKalb officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place at the Anderson Funeral Home Ltd. Crematory in DeKalb.
