DeKALB – Martha Sniegocki, 93, of DeKalb, Ill., died Monday, March 31, 2014, at Kishwaukee Hospital, DeKalb.
Born Feb. 16, 1921, in Simpson, Pa., the daughter of Stephen and Nora (Galavitz) Petrilak, Martha married Francis Edward Sniegocki on Dec. 10, 1944, in Binghamton, N.Y.
A homemaker, Martha was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, DeKalb, and Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
She is survived by her children, David Sniegocki of DeKalb, Christine (Dr. Robert) Gilman of Ann Arbor, Mich., Gerald (Jennifer Wallace) Sniegocki of Melrose, Mass., and Joanne (Thom) Rouse of DeKalb; grandchildren, Hayden and Zak Rouse, Amanda Jones, Alex and Nicholas Gilman, and Abby and Sophie Sniegocki; great-grandchildren, Madilynn and Hanna Jones, and Nora Rouse; brother, Steven Petrilak of Sound Beach, N.Y.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
The memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 7, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 321 Pine Street, DeKalb, with the Rev. James Parker celebrating.
Cremation is by Anderson Funeral Home Crematory.
