Matthew Ryan Birbilas, 26, of Maple Park, died Friday, July 1, 2011, at his home.
He was born April 28, 1985, in Aurora, the son of Ray W. and Bonita "Bonnie" J. (Zoller) Birbilas.
Matthew was a graduate of Sycamore High School and attended Kishwaukee College. He enjoyed landscaping and had an interest in writing. He especially loved listening to music, playing his guitar and composing various types of songs.
He is survived by his parents, Ray and Bonnie Birbilas of Maple Park; two brothers, Ray Birbilas Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Eric Birbilas of Maple Park; one sister, Sheila Romey of Durand; one nephew, Joshua Spencer; two nieces, Madyson Romey and Brooklyn Romey; and several loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, July 10, at the local, family-owned and -operated Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore. A memorial service will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Daniel Diss officiating. Burial will be private.
