DeKALB – Naomi Pearl (Inman) Griswold, 77, of DeKalb, Ill., passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital, in DeKalb.
Born March 25, 1935, in Martinsville, to Alvia and Clara (Sloniker) Inman, she married Ralph A. Griswold on Aug. 6, 1955.
She worked for AG Automatic in Genoa for 25 years. She was an active member of Advent Christian Church in DeKalb, where she was the church's secretary and organist.
She enjoyed making crafts, reading and learning about local history. Naomi loved to be around family. She was a loving mother and provided a wonderful home for her family.
She is survived by her children, Ralph (Deborah) Griswold Jr. of Shabbona, Susan Griswold of DeKalb, George (Kim) Griswold of DeKalb and Roger Griswold of DeKalb; grandchildren, Randi (Jeff) Niemeyer, Heather (Dave) Goodell, Emily (Matt) Mols, Cole Griswold and Regan Griswold; great-grandchildren, Finlee Niemeyer, Foster Niemeyer and James Mols; brothers, Harvey (Anita) Inman and Ray (Betty) Inman; sister-in-law, Pat Heerspink; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Griswold; children, David, Paul and Ronald Griswold; parents, Clara and Alvia Inman; and brother, Don Inman.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Butala Funeral Home and Cematory in Sycamore, with the Rev. David Glick officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Butala Funeral Home.
